You can see they are working to make the different plants better, and on the animals’ terms. Especially the large underground aquarium could well need a modernization, and at times I thought we were very much in the ring in between the different plants. It would be nice if the zoo card was a little better explained. But all in all, a really nice zoological garden that especially families with children will enjoy visiting. Set off at least 4 hours for your visit, we were there for a whole afternoon and we did not reach all plants.
Prices & amp; Info
London Zoo is located on the outskirts of Regent’s Park, and the easiest way there is taking the subway (underground) to Baker Street or Camden Town and following the signs, it takes approx. 12 minutes to go there from Camden Town.
A good tip is to buy the tickets to the London Zoo from home when mansaves 10% by buying them online.Remember it must be purchased at least one day before your visit. If you buy the ticket online before your visit costs an adult ticket £ 24.30 compared to it costing £ 29.75 at the entrance. Child tickets cost £ 18 online.
Although the calendar said October, it was a nice warm autumn day so it was perfect that there were some boxes you could rent for your belongings. It is a very smart boxing system where you can pay with both cards and cash. So we threw the jacket and moved into the garden.
Gorillas, Indian lions and penguins that are romping
London Zoo has more than 19,000 animals, and what particularly characterizes the London Zoo is their focus on creating large natural plants for their animals. Among other things, you can experience the gorillas romp in their outdoor facilities, and at the same time stand very close to the large silverback behind the glass.
Or experience the Humboldt penguins romping in their giant penguin system, which will represent a South American beach. Here you can follow the penguins both above and below the water.
One of the latest plants is the large plant for the endangered Asian lions. Here you can experience the lions while moving around the large plant. You have to look for the animals, and while it may seem annoying as visitors, it is great to see that some of the plants are built on the animals’ premises.
Visit a Harry Potter Location
One of the well-known scenes from the Harry Potter films is the trip in the Zoological Garden, where Harry first discovers that he can talk to snakes. If you, like me, are huge Harry Potter Fan, remember to visit the Reptile House where you can watch the snake terrarium from the first Harry Potter movie. When we were there, the terrarium was unfortunately empty, and during renovation, but a plate hangs on the wall, so you have no doubt where it is. You will find the reptile house obliquely opposite the main entrance.
Very close to the sloth
Every time we are in a zoological garden in either Copenhagen or Odense, we spend a long time looking for the sloth, which often hides high up, out of sight of curious visitors. But at the London Zoo we were lucky enough to be quite a few feet from a sloth and her young. It is a very fascinating animal, and very close you really get a good impression of their long claws.
Keep on hat and glasses at the lemurs
If you would like to be very close to the animals, visit the curious and spring -happy lemurs from Madagascar. Here you can experience the half -monkey with the distinctive white striped tail jump around at full speed around you. They are really cute, but also a little scary when a lemur who initially sits far away, takes a single jump and vupti then it sits almost right next to one.
