All 82 bath houses are unique and invite you to the perfect photo. Brighton Bathing Boxes is well attended and you must expect a lot of people to visit the beach, both tourists and the locals. Try to get before the locals go to the beach in the afternoon as the bath houses are most charming when closed. The beach itself is nothing special, but this is where you meet the locals, and then the area is perfect for walking along the promenade. If necessary, pack the picnic basket and enjoy a day at the beach.
The 82 bath houses look the way they did over a hundred years ago, when the brightly colored bath houses were set up so that the women from the rich upper class could switch to their swimwear in peace and quiet. Transport
It takes approx. 20 minutes by train. Hop on the Sandringham line inside Flinders Street Station and get off at Brighton Beach Railway Station, from there there is only one walk of approx. 500 meters down to the beach.
