With its located on top of a cliff in the middle of Edinburgh’s old town, Edinburgh Castle is quite difficult to overlook. It is therefore almost impossible to have visited Edinburgh without having made his acquaintance with the castle in one way or another.

You can easily get you a good impression that the castle from the outside, but if you are interested in history, I would recommend buying a ticket and seeing the castle on the other side of the castle walls. The castle is probably reminiscent of a castle than a traditional castle.

Among the castle’s main attractions include Scottish National War Memorial, The Royal Palace where you can see the Scottish crown jewels and the dungeon where you can walk around among swinging hammocks, gives a good impression of how inconvenient life as a prisoner has been.

Scotland is probably best known for its unsteady and rainy weather, but we were so lucky that the day we visited the castle, the sun was high in the sky. We were therefore given the opportunity to enjoy the unique view of the city from the castle.

The Royal Military Tattoo

Edinburgh’s praised Military Tattoo consumes Edinburgh Castle every year in August. In the square in front of the castle, approx. 1000 orchestra members The scene for the rhythm of drum vertebrae and bagpipes.

Every year, the Tattoo attracts spectators from around the world. I have yet to attend this spectacular show.
