The entrance of the Captains of Industry
The building that houses Captains of Industry is wedged in between Bourke Street and Summer Set Place and was used in its time for industrial production, which is still hanging on to this day in the interior, but also in what is offered. Because while you are waiting to have lunch served, you can get the beard or bounced the lures of the hairdresser, which lasts for the same place. You can also get your shoes tailored, or buy one of the unique products back home that local craftsmen exhibit and sell.
The ancient and rustic interiors create a truly unique atmosphere where the old sewing machines are still sitting on the tables. The menu is minimalist and they are known for their sandwiches, but also remember to ask about today’s specialty when ordering. If you are lucky you can get a place by the window where you can sit and glimpse down the crowd on the large main street Elizabeth Street.
A visit to Captains of Industry is a very special experience and a must if you visit Melbourne. The place is perfect compared to Melbourne’s other attractions and close to all shopping the places. You can read more in myGuide to Melbourne’s best attractions.
